This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Payslip Converter collects, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and your choices and rights in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable laws.

1. Who We Are & Privacy Act Coverage

Payslip Converter is operated by Spencer Robertson, trading as Payslip Converter, ABN 84 593 942 865 (“we”, “us”, “our”). We provide an online Service converting PDF payslips to Excel documents, billed monthly via Stripe.

We are covered by the Privacy Act 1988 because we collect and “trade in personal information” as a solitary trader providing paid conversion services—a fact confirmed by OAIC guidance.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

We may collect:

• Name and email address (account creation, support, notifications)
• Uploaded payslip PDFs (may contain employee name, pay period, gross/net income, tax deductions)
• Usage metadata (IP address, browser/user agent) only if analytics tracking is enabled via consent
• Payment transactions and partial billing metadata via Stripe (we do not retain full card/bank details)
• Any correspondence you have with us We only collect personal information

that is necessary for us to provide the Service and conduct our business.

3. How We Collect It

You submit most of the data directly (e.g. via upload or form). Technical details are collected only after you explicitly opt into cookie analytics. We do not log payment card numbers or full bank account details on our servers.

4. Why We Use Your Information

• To provide and support the Payslip Converter Service
• To process month‑to‑month payments using Stripe
• To communicate account status, billing reminders, system updates
• For aggregate (non‑identifiable) analytics, if you consent
• To comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax reporting, anti‑fraud checks)

5. Disclosure to Third Parties

We only share what’s necessary:

• Transaction metadata and contact info with Stripe to process your payment
• Anonymised usage stats with analytics or hosting providers—never with identity
• If required by law (e.g. court order or tax authority) or with your express consent

We do not sell your personal data. Stripe may also collect cardholder data directly from your browser during Checkout.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

• Withdraw consent for optional analytics or marketing processing
